A LOVE FOR MUSIC. A HEART FOR PEOPLE.

Many sounds.
One purpose.

Different rhythms. Different voices.
The same invitation to hope.

Of Ash & Light is a versatile collective with a love for many styles of music. From country and rock to EDM, dance, and pop, each genre offers a different way to tell a story, express faith, and connect with someone’s heart.

That variety is intentional. People find comfort, joy, and meaning in different sounds, and we want to welcome them through the music they love.

Whatever the style, our purpose remains the same: to share the love of Jesus Christ, make room for honest questions, and remind every listener that they are loved.

THE REASON FOR OF ASH & LIGHT

The light has a name.
Jesus Christ.

Every song, every story, every invitation to hope begins here. Of Ash & Light exists to point people to Jesus Christ: His love, His cross, His resurrection, and the new life He offers.

AN INVITATION FROM OF ASH & LIGHT

You are invited to come to Jesus.

You do not have to hide your questions, your failures, or your pain. God loves you. The Christian gospel is that, although sin separates us from God, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins and rose again. Through Him, we can receive forgiveness and be reconciled to God.

Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ—not something we earn by becoming good enough. He calls us to turn from sin and trust Him as Savior and Lord. You can come to Him honestly, right where you are.

Read the promise
John 3:16 · Romans 10:9–13 · Ephesians 2:8–9

A PRAYER OF FAITH

Jesus, I come to You.

Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You as I am. I have sinned, and I need Your mercy and forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose again.

I turn from my sin and place my trust in You. Please forgive me and make me new. I receive You as my Savior and Lord.

Thank You for loving me and for the gift of salvation. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Teach me to follow You, to love others, and to walk in Your truth each day.

My hope is in You, Jesus. In Your name I pray. Amen.

These words are a guide, not a formula. A prayer does not earn salvation; our trust is in Jesus Christ and what He has done. Speak to Him sincerely in your own words.

BEGIN WALKING WITH HIM

You do not have to take the next step alone.

  1. Talk with Jesus. Begin a daily conversation with Him in prayer.
  2. Open the Bible. The Gospel of John is a good place to begin learning who Jesus is.
  3. Find Christian community. Connect with a local church that teaches the Bible and centers its life on Jesus. Speak with a pastor or mature Christian about faith and baptism.
  4. Keep growing. Following Jesus is a lifelong journey. Bring Him your questions and let others walk beside you.

Luma, a gray-and-cream fox mascot wearing a black scarf with gold embroidery, holding a warmly glowing lantern

MEET OUR MASCOT / A LITTLE LIGHT FOR THE JOURNEY

This is Luma.

Small paws. Brave heart. A light to share.

Luma is the little lantern-bearer of Of Ash & Light—a loyal, courageous fox who reminds us that even in the darkest places, there is still light.

With soft gray-and-cream fur, star-bright eyes, and a golden lantern held close, she represents hope, healing, and the journey from darkness into light. Her gentle presence belongs beside the music and stories: a companion for quiet nights, difficult roads, and new beginnings.

Luma carries the heart of our message in her own small way. You are not alone on the journey, and even a little light can help us take the next step.

“Even in the dark… there is still light.”

THE ARCHITECT / THE HEART BEHIND THE MESSAGE

Darrin Hayward

FOUNDER · SONGWRITER · PRODUCER

The storyteller. The songwriter. The vision. Darrin is the architect behind the message, the sound, and the vision of Of Ash & Light.

Born in Ponoka, Alberta, Canada, in 1969, Darrin draws on small-town roots, prairie skies, and deep faith. His songs carry pieces of real life: memory, pain, healing, and the hope that gives the journey purpose.

“I don’t seek the spotlight.
I seek the purpose.”

A MESSAGE FROM DARRIN

You are loved.

May every song remind you of the love Jesus Christ has for you.

05 / WHY WE CREATE

Not every story starts
in the light.
None is beyond it.

Of Ash & Light exists to glorify Jesus Christ and share the good news of salvation through Him. Our music, stories, and imagined worlds are creative invitations to discover the Savior who died for our sins, rose again, and offers forgiveness and new life.

Jesus is the center of our purpose. We create to make His love known, encourage faith, and invite people to turn to Him. Questions are welcome here. Our deepest hope is that, beyond a song or a story, you will come to know Jesus Christ.

“To give them beauty for ashes…”ISAIAH 61:3 · KJV
